This integrative review followed several steps, including identifying the topic, structuring the research question using the PICO strategy, defining inclusion criteria, selecting articles, evaluating and analyzing selected studies, interpreting the results and presenting the review. The use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is linked to a significantly increased risk of breast cancer, especially with combination therapy. The risk increases with time of use and persists after discontinuation. Although some studies have found a significant risk, estrogen-only therapy carries a lower risk, particularly for long-term use. Hormone replacement therapy, especially the combined formulation of estrogen and progestogen, is associated with a significant increase in the risk of breast cancer, persisting after discontinuation. The estrogen-only formulation has a lower risk. The duration of HRT and body mass index (BMI) also influence the risk.
Amanda Feitosa, Lívia Chambó, Marcela Silva , Mariana Tasso, Maria Fernanda Abib, Paula Masi, Sofia Teruel , Vitoria Oliveira , Eduardo Chagas, Heloísa Doca Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3342 Wed, 01 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 Accuracy of methods for tracking anxiety and depression symptoms in childrens and adolescentes: integrative review http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3348
Objective: This integrative review article’s purpose is to compare the accuracy tracking methods for anxiety and depression symptoms in children and adolescentes. This quantitative study investigated the impacts of falls on the elderly, focusing on functional and psychosocial aspects, in patients treated at the Cidade-Alta Basic Health Unit, located in Maringá-PR, between 2018 and 2023, using a questionnaire that covered socioeconomic data, medical history, and scales for geriatric depression, functional capacity, and quality of life (WhoqolBref). The study involved 81 elderly individuals, predominantly women (60%), aged 70 to 80 years, with low education levels and income up to two minimum wages. Of the participants, 20 had recent falls, mostly at home, with 85% presenting sequelae and many reporting the use of medications associated with falls. Despite signs of mild depression, the overall quality of life remained generally satisfactory, but with limitations in instrumental daily life activities, suggesting a reduction in autonomy.
Aliny de Lima Santos, Maria Fernanda de Souza Santos Nocette, Giovana Ornellas Nonino, Clarissa Fonseca Vollrath Possmoser Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3351 Wed, 01 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 Utilization of passion fruit (Passiflora cincinnata Mast.) peel flour in sweet preparation http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3358
The aim of this study was to develop sweets added with flour from wild passion fruit peel and evaluate their physicochemical and sensory quality. Physicochemical analyses of moisture, pH, titratable acidity, and ash, texture, color, and sensory evaluation were conducted. The results indicated that the sweets had appropriate values for moisture, pH, titratable acidity, and ash. Texture analysis revealed that the sweets had texture values ranging from 1.0 to 5.0 N, with formulations containing added flour being firmer. Regarding color, the Lab* parameter showed that the sweets resulted in shades of white, slightly green, and yellowish depending on the addition of flour. Sensory analysis demonstrated that all sweets were well-accepted, achieving scores above 6.0 points. It was concluded that the sweets exhibited texture and color characteristics typical of passion fruit sweets and good sensory acceptability, thus representing a viable option to add greater value to the product.
Milton Nobel Cano Chauca, Daniela Rodrigues Silva, Taiza Muniz Neves, Priscille Ngolo Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3358 Wed, 01 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 Considerations on the authenticity and nutritional aspects of green coffee products consumed in Brazil http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3279
Several benefits have been attributed to the consumption of green coffee, in the form of capsules or teas, mainly due to its high content of phenolic acids, which allegedly show antioxidant, antimutagenic, and anticarcinogenic activities in vitro. Chlorogenic acid is the phenolic compound present in greater proportion in coffee and the consumption of green coffee extract has been associated with health and loss of weight. However, beyond these bioactive compounds with a healthy appeal, other compounds which can have deleterious health effects should be considered in the consumption of these extracts, such as the presence of contaminants (ochratoxin A and its producing fungi), phytates, and tannins, which exhibit anti-nutritional characteristics. In that sense, this manuscript seeks to assess the composition of commercial green coffee extracts, analyzing their authenticity, nutritional and anti-nutritional aspects, to provide technical information for a qualified discussion about the effective healthiness of the consumption of commercial green coffee extracts. Nine samples of green coffee food supplements were selected and a product was prepared to serve as a standard. It was possible to identify coffee DNA in six of the commercial samples of food supplements. The products had antioxidant activity between 33 and 2408 µmol of Trolox/g. It was possible to identify chlorogenic acid in all samples with concentrations ranging from 0.023 - 20 mg / g of coffee. Six samples presented positive values for ochratoxin A, despite being within the limits of the coffee roasted legislation, there is a certain concern about the safety of these supplements.
Filipe do Carmo Aleixo Sousa, Erika Fraga de Souza, Andressa Moreira de Souza, Alexandra Mara Goulart Nunes Mamede, Edna Maria Morais Oliveira, Otniel Freitas-Silva Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3279 Thu, 02 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 Practices developed by midwives from territory da Bocaina to assist women in the puerperal pregnancy period http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3101
The objective of this study is to describe the cultural practices used by midwives from Traditional Communities in the territory of Bocaina to assist women in the puerperal pregnancy period. Method: an integrative review was conducted following several methodological steps, including identifying the topic and formulating the research question using the PICO strategy. The guiding question was: "What is the effect of Cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children and adolescents?" Inclusion criteria were defined for selecting relevant articles, followed by the search and selection of articles in scientific databases Portal Capes and PubMed, with no use of search filters. The studies were evaluated and analyzed; the results were then interpreted. Finally, the integrative review consolidated knowledge about the possible effects of CBD as an intervention for ASD. Conclusion: the integrative review highlights the possible effects of cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of autism, showing significant improvement of symptoms with minimal side effects. Although still not widely disseminated, CBD appears to be a functional therapy for ASD.
Vittória Valentina Papin da Costa, Alex Sandro Vinicius de Souza Ferreira, Maria Antônia Manfio Herzog, Maria Júlia Biazon Alves, Mateus Zubi Gimenes, Rodrigo Bueno Therezo, Vitória Kimura, Paula Cristina Cola Tozzato, Cristóvam Emilio Herculiani Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3391 Mon, 13 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 The complex networks of an entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem: proposal for a representation model http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3394
This article presents a proposal for a representation model of entrepreneurial innovation ecosystems, based on the Theory of Complex Networks, in order to understand the complexity of the relationships between its actors. Collections took place in the marginal lakes and troughs of the Caramujo, Padre Ignácio and Paraguay rivers, with collections during high and low water periods in 2018 and 2019. Interviews were conducted with fishermen using a semi-structured questionnaire and obtaining locations where tucunaré occur. Secondary data was obtained by searching for articles on the occurrence of species in the Pantanal. Thirty-five specimens of Cichla kelberi were caught in 21 localities in the study area. Interviews revealed 44 localities, predominantly on the left banks of the Paraguay River. In the literature, there have been 9 studies on the occurrence of tucunaré in the Brazilian Pantanal, 7 of which in the southern Pantanal. The data points to a distribution of C. piquiti further south and C. kelberi further north in the biome, which may be due to the routes of introductions and the characteristics of the biome reducing the speed of diffusion.
Amanda Santos, Wilkinson Lázaro, Fernando Borges, Derick Campos, Fabiana Rodrigues, Ernandes Oliveira-Júnior, Claumir Muniz Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3396 Tue, 14 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 Assement of the risks of the use of food supplements and ther drug interactions in the elderly population http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3393
OBJECTIVE: To assess the risks of using dietary supplements and their drug interactions in the elderly population. METHODOLOGY: This is a descriptive-discursive review, carried out on the VHL, Ministry of Health and Scielo portals. Inclusion criteria were articles with a 10-year version that discussed drug interactions among the elderly. Exclusion criteria Researches that discuss these topics in non-senile population. OUTCOME: As the dietary supplement market expands globally, recognition of drug and supplement interactions is vital to preventing morbidity and mortality. However, the risks of combinations are little known by consumers and there is an increase in reports of hepatotoxicity; hypotension; hypoglycemia and platelet antiaggregation, in addition to reduced pharmacological efficacy or bioavailability. CONCLUSION: Food supplementation when administered with drugs incorrectly causes interaction, leading to ineffectiveness in the treatment by reducing absorption or potentiating the action. Furthermore, the SFD is underreported and little elucidated, which compromises assessing the nature of these interactions.
Artur Bruno Silva Gomes, Karine Nascimento Chves, Sabrina Gomes de Oliveira, Anderson Luiz Neves Albuquerque Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3393 Tue, 14 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300 Arts in schools curricula: disputes and possibilities for human emancipation http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3400
This paper aims to discuss the role of arts in the educational field. The research question addressed is: How does decision-making performance manifest when starting an accounting franchise versus an independent brand in light of Causation and Effectuation theories? This quantitative study employed a survey approach. The research population consisted of accounting enterprises—both franchises and independent brands—registered with the Brazilian Federal Accounting Council (CFC, 2023). The subjects were 718 entrepreneurs, including 312 accounting franchisees and 406 independent brand owners. The study utilized a questionnaire adapted from Chandler et al. (2011), Brettel et al. We used 24 young male Wistar rats, 21 days old, divided into three groups: sedentary control group (CG, n=8), group trained with medium intensity physical exercises (GM, n=8) and group trained with physical exercises high intensity (GA, n=8). For 4 weeks, the animals in the GM and GA groups were subjected to a medium and high intensity physical exercise protocol. The physical exercise protocol was applied over a period of 4 weeks, 5 days a week. After training, the animals were euthanized and the heart was removed for weighing, analysis of macroscopic morphology (left ventricular thickness, weight, analysis of diameter and ventricular area); The 5um sections were then processed and stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE) for subsequent histomorphometric analysis of the cardiomyocytes. The results did not demonstrate significant differences in the macroscopic parameters of the heart (weight, left ventricular thickness, ventricular area, total area, ventricular diameter). A significant difference was observed in the area of cardiomyocytes in the left ventricle of rats that exercised with high intensity. It is concluded that rats exercising at high intensity showed an increase in the area of cardiomyocytes compared to rats that exercised at medium intensity and sedentary ones. Thus, it is concluded that progressive resistance physical exercise on the vertical ladder when performed at high intensity promotes cardiomyocyte hypertrophy in young rats.
Luna Sara Campos Vaz, Márcia Reimol de Andrade, Laila Cristina Moreira Damázio Copyright (c) 2024 Concilium http://www.clium.org/index.php/edicoes/article/view/3419 Tue, 14 May 2024 00:00:00 -0300
